5 Ways to Improve Your Zoom Meeting

We’ve all been in lots of zoom meetings, especially since the start of 2020. However, there are a few ways to make the whole experience more enjoyable for the host and the participants.

1. Keep your Zoom Meeting to an agenda

If you settle on an agenda before your zoom meeting starts and stick to that schedule, you can keep your meeting on track and as short as possible. Nobody likes a meeting that takes an extra few hours because it was not organized well or it kept getting off topic.

2. Only invite the people who need to attend the Zoom Meeting

Inviting people who don’t really need to be part of the zoom meeting will be a waste of time for you and for them - they will use up an hour or two of their time that they could spend doing something else, and you use up extra time in he meeting where they are asking questions or dragging you off topic because the content you are talking about is not important to them.

There’s nothing more annoying than trying to join a zoom meeting and having the wrong link, or sending out the wrong link for your zoom meeting, and having to get everyone to use a new link. If you set up a persistent link (using a service like Jelly URL) you can easily change it every time you host the meeting, and update it quickly if there’s a last minute change or you were using the wrong link.

4. Make sure everyone in your Zoom Meeting knows what’s what

When someone new joins your zoom meeting, make sure they know what the agenda is and have met everyone who is in the meeting. That way, they’ll know what’s going on and so will everyone else.

5. Schedule time for small talk in your Zoom Meeting

Since you’re not meeting in person, you need to schedule a little time for some small talk - make sure people have a chance to get to know each other to make it just a little more enjoyable to meet on zoom.
